I just did a fresh install of Windows 10 and as i was downloading all my usual softwares this question suddenly hits me: do I even need an antivirus? I usually use Avast and I dont like it, too much pop upsm just annoying, often block stuff that shouldnt be blocked. Is Windows defender good enough? If its not whats AV would you suggest? Something straigth forward (open source maybe) would be great. Does antivirus software have to be turned off to download windows 10 onto a USB? I’m nervous about downloading mods on my new laptop. I only use mods that most other mod users use, like MCCC, wicked whims, and basemental. I don’t play around with CC at all. Is windows defender enough to download these mods? Or should I have some other antivirus protection as well? We are currently using Symantec for Windows 10 machine in our organisation. However, recently took Office365 E3 licenses for most of our users. But not sure if the license covers a feature to provide Antivirus for user machine. Alternately, yes we can use DEFENDER provided with Windows 10, but not heard good reviews. Therefore, checking if any Office365 License that provides User-machine level protection? Any guidance will be deeply appreciated.
